A green-and-white jockey costume from Gary Ross’ 2003 film, based on the best-selling non-fiction book Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand.
This jockey costume and others like it were made for the production and can be seen in the horse races. The costume consists of a jacket, hat, and riding trousers. The jacket has a green torso with a white diagonal strip, and red loops around the white arms. The hat is green and the trousers are white. The hat is designed to go over a horse-riding helmet. The trousers have a label with ‘Allan’ handwritten on it. As the costume was made specially for the jockey in the film it does not have any size labelling, but it is very small.
The costume has some wear from production use, such as staining and soiling on the trousers, most notably at the bottom. It has some frayed stitching and plucked fibres but remains in an otherwise good production-used condition.
Materials: Man-Made Woven Fibres.
