Saving Private Ryan

Jeremy Davies' Directors Chair

Stock #76427

Jeremy Davies’ director’s chair from the Oscar-winning Steven Spielberg war epic Saving Private Ryan. After the death of his brothers on D-Day, orders come down from high command for the retrieval of Private James Ryan (Matt Damon) from behind enemy lines. Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his squad set out through war-torn Normandy to find him, battling the Germans all the way.

Director’s chairs were used by the film’s cast and crew to watch the filming and rest between takes, with this chair designated for Davies who plays the role of Corporal Upham. The folding chair is made from stained wood with metal hinges and displays a built-in foot rest. The seat and chairback are made from black canvas, with the chairback featuring white printed text which reads ‘Maverick’ on both sides. Both sides of the chairback have holes for placing on a chair. The piece displays some wear from production use including light stains and minor marks and scuffs on the wood and foot rest. However, despite this wear, the chair remains in very good condition.
