Lauda's (Daniel Brühl) and Hunt's (Chris Hemsworth) Formula 3 balaclava and goggles set displays from Ron Howard’s 2013 Formula One movie Rush.
The film depicts the rivalry between Formula One drivers James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) during the 1970s, when both pushed each other to the limits in order to win the World Championship.
Lauda and Hunt wore their protective clothing at the Crystal Palace Formula 3 racetrack where their feud began. Made by Bob Heath Visors, Hunt’s goggles feature an acrylic lens, rubber frame and dense foam liner. A black elastic wrap-around strap secures the visor in place and has a black clip at the rear.
Lauda’s goggles, made by Halcyon, feature angled acrylic lenses to improve visibility, reinforced metal frames, a padded faux-leather lining and an elastic strap. The unsized white polyester hood has a single opening at the front and outward-facing stitching. Presented on custom display stands, the set remains in very good condition.
Materials: Man-Made Woven Fibres, Acrylic, Ferrous Metals.
