A racing car front tyre used in the production of Ron Howard's 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brhl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.
This 'wet' front tyre would have been used on Hunt's McLaren M23 during one of the many races throughout the world championship. The wheel has a 36cm (14") blank-painted rim with a black rubber tyre. The tyre has been imprinted with the caution "For racing purposes only, not for highway use", and although actually made by Avon, it is stamped with a 'Goodyear' emblem on the outside. This tyre remains in excellent production-used condition, measuring approximately 49 x 30 x 49cm (19.25 x 12 x 19.25").
This prop is an original asset used in the production of the 2013 film RUSH. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
