David's (Michael Fassbender) Orange Basketball & Hoop

Stock #27091

”How far would you go to get your answers?”

David's (Michael Fassbender) orange basketball & hoop from the production of Ridley Scott’s 2012 sci-fi film Prometheus.

Led to a distant planet by ancient wall paintings, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) join a corporate sponsored mission to discover the source of life on Earth. But in the ruins of an alien space craft, the human explorers soon find that all is not as it seems, and a great threat lurks in its deep holds.

This basketball and hoop are from the opening scenes when David is passing time aboard the Prometheus until it is time to wake up the crew from hypersleep. The hoop is attached to the backboard in the meeting hall/gymnasium of the ship where David appears cycling and shooting baskets.

The hoop has been sprayed black, with gold flecks for shooting with the original bright orange colour still being visible on the wall mountings. The hoop has a worn fabric net and the original fittings where it was attached to the backboard on set. The Spalding® basketball is a ‘Game Ball Series’ outdoor ball which is a production back-up, being slightly less worn than the one seen in the final cut. It has been distressed and dirtied ready for shooting. The hoop is in very good production used condition.
