Prop 'Funny Boy' Theatre Magazine

Stock #8385

A prop "Funny Boy" theatre magazine from the production of Mel Brooks' 2005 musical comedy The Producers. Broke and fearing for his career, producer Max Bialystock (Nathan Lane) enlists accountant Leo Bloom (Matthew Broderick) in a scheme to try and create the biggest flop in Broadway history, swindling many old heiresses in the process.

This magazine and others like it were held in the first scene of the film by two theatre ushers as they sing about the opening night of Max Bialystock's latest Broadway show, Funny Boy. The magazine is titled as "Playbill, a weekly magazine for theatregoers" and the front cover features an advert for the play "Funny Boy" with a picture of 'Hamlet' singing whilst holding a skull. The inside pages contain information about the cast members in the film including Matthew Broderick, Roger Bart, Gary Beach, Nathan Lane, Will Ferrell and Uma Thurman. Adverts for various companies and products also feature on many pages of the magazine such as an advert for Coca Cola on the back page.

This magazine feature signs of production use including minor crease lines on the spine near where the pages have been stapled together and the back-page features marks. However, in spite of this wear, the magazine remains in very good condition.
