A Persian helmet from the production of Mike Newell’s 2010 fantasy adventure Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
This style of helmet can be seen worn by the members of the Persian Army, most noticeably in the scene when King Sharaman (Ronald Pickup) is burned and killed by the gown presented to him by Dastan (Jake Gyllenhall). Made from durable vinyl painted metallic silver, the conical helmet features four vertical floral shapes, a braid of faux horsehair fixed to the top, a protective segment of chainmail (made from both metal and rubber links to make it lighter) and a separate band around the base of wavy lines and rivets. The inside is padded for the comfort of the actor.
The helmet has some wear from production use and age, including scuffing and scratches, but overall remains in an excellent condition.
