Planet Of The Apes (2001)

Ape Merchant's Coat

Stock #33551

”Extremism in defence of apes is no vice.”

An ape merchant’s coat from the production of Tim Burton’s 2001 sci-fi film Planet of the Apes.

Lost through a singularity during a deep-space exploration mission, astronaut Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) finds himself stranded on a primitive alien world where apes – not humans – sit at the top of the evolutionary ladder.

Made of a thin, dark green material, the coat features rough cuts and stitching to create the look of a primitive garment worn by a lower class citizen. It features an array of metal studs that run up and down the back and front of the garment. The sleeves were removed at some stage during production.

With the exception of the sleeve removal, the piece remains in a fair production-used condition, with no size marked.

Materials: Man-Made Woven Fibres, Ferrous Metals.
