A concept model for a Flying Dutchman pirate's weapon from the production of Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Davy Jones' (Bill Nighy) accursed pirate crew - including Will Turner's father, Bootstrap Bill (Stellan Skarsgard) - wielded makeshift weapons cobbled together from oceanic ephemera including driftwood, seawood, and shells during their battles with the crew of the Black Pearl and the Kraken.

The waterlogged Dutchman pirates and their distinctive weaponry were brought to life with a combination of live-action photography and groundbreaking visual effects with real-world concept models used as reference. Effects team heads John Knoll, Hal T. Hickel, Charles Gibson, and Allen Hall later received the Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.

This concept model for one of the pirate's club-like weapons originated from a crew member. It is constructed primarily from wood with spiky cast resin shells affixed on either side of the staff's head. Three of the spikes' tips have broken off since production, and the weapon exhibits adhesive residue and ink markings from production use.
