"Pity you can't eat pirates, really. But you'd probably taste of barnacles"
A Thames Dock Cage containing a pirate skeleton from the Queen Victoria 1, Victoria's personal ship in Aardman Animation's 2012 adventure comedy The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!
Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) is determined to win the Pirate of the Year Award and defeat his rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek). His quest takes him and his crew from their home on Blood Island, to the streets of Victorian London.
Skeletons of unfortunate pirates hung in a gibbet on Thames Dock, serving as a warning to all buccaneers sailing into London that under no circumstances will pirates be tolerated by the evil Queen Victoria.
The cage has been made from resin and decorated to look like rusty metal. The skull and random fragments of bone at the bottom of the cage are also resin and several tattered pieces of treated cloth have been adhered to the bones, representing the clothing the pirate would have once worn.
Intentionally distressed to appear old, the dock cage remains in an excellent condition.
Materials: Resin, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
