“And that's why, in a straight fight, a shark would probably beat a Dracula”

A rare and original chopping board and knife from Aardman Animation’s 2012 adventure comedy The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!

Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) is determined to win the Pirate of the Year Award and defeat his rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek). His quest takes him and his crew from their home on Blood Island, to the streets of Victorian London.

Knives and chopping boards were seen below deck aboard Queen Victoria’s royal flagship the QV1, as the chef prepares a feast of endangered animals for the World Leaders attending The Rare Creatures Dining Club – a fate that poor Polly the Dodo narrowly escapes!

The knife handle and chopping board are made from resin and have been painted to replicate wood. Made from a light metal, the knife blade features a hole and a wire hook is attached to the handle. The board has been intentionally distressed including scores and light scratches producing a well-used appearance.

A blob of dried glue is on the underside of the chopping board which would have been applied during filming to ensure it was positioned securely. The pieces features light wear from production use and the blade displays light scratches. However, the chopping board and knife remain in very good condition.

Materials: Resin, Ferrous Metals.
