”I think they just add those on the maps for decoration.”

Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much-coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!

The armoury wall display was seen after the love-struck Charles Darwin lured the Pirate Captain into Queen Victoria’s evil lair after stealing his beloved pet Polly the dodo.

The display consists of a circular arrangement of weapons and household implements around a central suit of female armour, capped with a large helm. The weapons include pikes, axes, morning stars and clubs, while the rest of the implements include a broom, mop, spatula and whisk. Each element is mounted to a central hardened piece of resin, with a large screw holding the central suit of armour in place. The helmet is fastened to the broom with a small piece of wire.

Decorated to look like metal, the armour, helmet, weapon blades and heads on this elaborate display are all cast in resin. The handles and staffs of each weapon are made from wood, production-distressed for an aged appearance. The broom and mop bristles are made from fibres like those on their real-life counterparts, treated with varnish to appear old and used.

Due to its delicate nature, some components have shifted slightly during production use and storage. The cutlasses are packaged separately to the display. This beautiful item remains in good production used condition and measures approximately 53cm x 47cm (21’’x 18 ½’’).

Materials: Resin, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
