Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

In a rather misguided attempt to steal booty from passing ships, the Pirate Captain finds himself aboard a ship full of plague-sufferers! Poor Rich can be seen shielding himself from the sun with his blanket whilst fellow plague victim Dave, informs the Pirate Captain of his error! His clothing is made from foam latex, with realistic bandages around his silicone hands and feet. His head is made from resin, with plasticine hair and there is also plasticine around his eyes to allow for his expression to be altered during filming. His removable mouth piece is made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin featuring the reference ‘Percy 24/05’ written inside his head. Rich’s body can be posed and positioned via an intricate internal steel skeleton. Due to the delicate nature of this puppet there are a very small number of slight indentations in the plasticine around his head and slight cracking on his shoulders, but he otherwise remains in good production used condition. He is presented on a bespoke display stand and measures approximately 32cm (12.5”) in length with his stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
