A pair of paintings from Buckingham Palace, used for the scenes in which Queen Victoria (Imelda Staunton) makes plans for an exotic animal dining cruise in between expressing her distaste for pirates! Similar paintings can also be seen during the final credits sequence. The paintings feature a resin frame with the interior paintings, showing snakes in a sandwich with the hilarious caption “Snakes On A Plate” and a dog rearing up at the sound of a ringing bell, printed on card and mounted on white sheet plastic. The frame is finished in gold, with the “portrait” distressed to look old and worn within the frame. The pieces remain in very good condition with minimal additional wear from use and time spent in storage.

In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain – a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
