Sandra Babcock's (Leslie Mann) Stop Motion Face

Stock #35613

A stop motion face used in the 2012 Chris Butler stop motion film, ParaNorman! This face belongs to Sandra Babcock (voiced by Leslie Mann), the mother of Norman Babcock (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), a boy who has the bizarre ability to speak to the dead. This face can be seen at the start of the film as we are introduced to Norman’s family.

Presented on a stand, this original puppet face has been 3-D printed in resin, and finished by hand. The colouring of the face is applied during the printing process, enabling consistency between each of the thousands of replacement animation faces that were created for the production. The face would have been attached to the head with magnets to allow animators to quickly replace them to capture the desired expression. The interior of the face also features reference numbers that were used to keep track of the different faces during production.

Lightly used in filming and carefully looked after, the piece remains in an excellent production-used condition, with the face measuring 10cm x 6cm x 5cm (4" x 2.5" x 2") on its display stand.
