A Metal Ammunition Box from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters known as ‘Kaiju’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. Ammunition boxes of this style were used as set dressing in the Shatterdome set.

Ammunition boxes are metal containers designed for safe transport and storage of weapon ammunition. This box displays yellow lettering painted onto the sides of the container and is marked as containing propelling charges for 155 mm projectiles; however, the container is empty. The ammunition box features a removable lid which latches on the sides. Due to production use and age, this box shows minor wear with slight rust and scuffing to the metal; however, it remains in overall good condition. This piece measures 25” x 7” x 21” (64 cm x 18 cm x 53 cm).
