Dr. Newton Geiszler’s (Charlie Day) Stage 5 Shirt from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. The world’s foremost expert on Kaiju, Newt’s fascination leads to an understanding of the monsters’ weakness. He wears a shirt such as this throughout the film and it becomes more distressed as the film progresses.

The slim fit white shirt has been dirtied and bloodied by production to appear worn. The shirt features a neck tag that labels it “Stage 5”, indicating the level of distressing applied, and a production tag labeling for Scene 208B to the end of the film. The shirt also features an extended waist section that was added by production, likely to ensure it remains tucked into the character’s pants when performing stunts. Despite purposeful distressing the shirt remains in good condition.
