A stop-motion Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) armature with a head casting from Henry Selick's stop-motion fantasy musical The Nightmare Before Christmas. Skellington attempted to create his own version of Christmas after growing tired of only ever celebrating Halloween.
This lot consists of a full-body metal armature, custom-made for the production, featuring both hinge and ball-and-socket joints at all major points of movement (including the shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips) with a black wooden stand. The Jack puppets used in production sustained a lot of wear and armatures were regularly repaired and reused, with components interchanged, throughout filming. This armature comes from the collection of a key crew member who installed an unpainted white resin Jack Skellington head for display at the end of production. The lot is in good overall condition with some signs of wear, including scuffing on the base. Dimensions: 30.5 cm x 12.25 cm x 9.75 cm (12" x 4 3/4" x 3 3/4")
