A flute rifle from Christopher McQuarrie's spy sequel Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. An assassin (Wolfgang Stegemann), intent on killing the Chancellor of Austria, sneaked his rifle into the Vienna State Theatre disguised as a flute. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) then used the weapon to injure the Chancellor, allowing him to temporarily escape.
The rifle is made predominantly of resin painted faux silver, and has a metal armature. It features a buttstock, which can be rested in the shoulder. There are chips to the paintwork and some of the keys and mechanism have come away, revealing the metal rods beneath. There is a small amount of black spotting along the rifle and a crack where the butt meets the body of the flute. Dimensions: 112 cm x 4 cm x 16 cm (44" x 1 1/2" x 6 1/4")
Estimate: £1,000 - 1,500 †
