Princess of the Blood robes from Bernardo Bertolucci's 1987 biopic drama film The Last Emperor.

The story of Pu Yi (John Lone), the last Emperor of China.

Women wore these robes throughout the film from when Pu Yi chose his secondary consort to marrying the Empress. The costume consists of a full-length gown of printed red rayon satin, overprinted with dragon robe motif, similarly printed sleeveless robe. Also included is a string of glass beads and polished stones that hang down the chest, and a cream quilted cotton under robe. The costume shows minor signs of wear from production use and ageing with light fraying and stains throughout. The costume remains in an otherwise very good condition.
