Last Action Hero

Hand Painted Storyboard - Sc 312

Stock #51802

A hand painted storyboard from the production of John McTiernan’s 1993 action comedy, Last Action Hero. In the film a young boy named Danny (Austin O'Brien) receives a magic movie ticket and finds himself in the world of his favorite action hero, Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger). However, when the ticket falls into the hands of a sinister man, Benedict (Charles Dance), Jack and Danny must work together to stop him from bringing more villains into the real world.

Painted over a sketch on a piece of illustrators board, this piece was completed using watercolors with some lines from the drawing visible underneath. This board depicts the climax of the film after Benedict has met his demise. The painting shows the magic ticket as it falls from the rooftop of a building to the street below. A note is adhered on the backside of the board referencing the Kirlian Effect emanating from the ticket as it flutters past a marquee. Beneath the panel is storyboard artist, Tom Cranham’s signature as well as a handwritten label reading “Sc. 312.”

This piece shows some light wear from production & age but remains in good overall condition.
