A stunt crucifix pole from the church fight sequence in the tongue-in-cheek action-adventure film Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Taken from a life of booze and petty crime, former Marine Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton) is trained by secret agent Harry Hart (Colin Firth) in the ways of the gentleman spy to join the secretive Kingsmen intelligence organisation.
Long crucifixes like this were used as decorations and weapons during the epic church fight sequence in which congregation members assaulted one another with furniture, knives, guns and parts of the church. They can be seen at the end of the pews and directly behind Harry as he shot the blonde woman before the fight erupted.
The crucifix is made from foam rubber with a metal armature within for stability. It is painted and textured with remarkable realism to resemble dark polished wood, with small details including wood grain, notes and cracks created by the set dressing team. The long, round pole flattens and slightly widens at the top where the crucifix section is – the bottom end is flat.
Signs of wear and tear are present across the item from use, although it remains in very good production-used condition.
