King Arthur

Woad Warrior's Ornate Axe

Stock #50058

An axe used in the production of the historical drama King Arthur. A retelling of Arthurian legend, the story charts the life and travails of Arturius Castus (Clive Owen), commander of a brave band of warriors as they fight to protect the Britons left behind during the Roman withdrawal from Britannia from the rampaging Saxons.

This axe and others like it were used by the Woads in the final battle with the marauding Saxon horde. The axe is made with a hard rubber head, a wood pole and a leather wrap on the grip. The axe head is covered in ornate Celtic designs and displays some wear from its use in the film’s battles, with nicks, dents and scrapes where the axe has clashed with the swords of its enemies. The axe head is finished to replicate the look of worked iron.

Displaying some wear, the axe remains in overall good condition.
