A red Roman infantry shield from the production of Antoine Fuqua’s 2004 historical adventure film King Arthur.

This curved oval shield was made to be carried by the roman infantry during the film but does not appear on screen in the final theatrical cut. However, this style of shield was used for publicity purposes, including the UK premiere in London. The shield is made from wood covered by red linen featuring a handpainted green and yellow laurel leaf design. A silver-painted vacuum-formed plastic boss is bolted on the centre front, and a wooden handle is affixed to the back.
It exhibits wear to the paintwork as well as scuffs and scratches from production use. Overall, it remains in good condition.
