Jurassic Park

Original Production Storyboard - Malcolm is Knocked Into Gear Stick

Stock #94303

”Life uh.... finds a way.”

An original production used storyboard from Steven Spielberg’s 1993 Oscar-winning adventure film Jurassic Park.

Billionaire philanthropist John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) and a team of genetic scientists have created a wildlife park of de-extinct dinosaurs. When industrial sabotage leads to a catastrophic shutdown of the, a small group of visitors (Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum) and Hammond's grandchildren struggle to survive on this perilous island.

This storyboard depicts the scene where Jurassic Park’s game warden Robert Muldoon (Bob Peck) and paleobotanist Ellie Sattler are hunting for survivors and find chaos theorist Ian Malcolm injured from a dinosaur attack. As they drive him away in a Jeep, a Tyrannosaurus Rex starts pursuing them. In his fear, Malcolm falls against the gear stick, impeding their escape.

Printed on a sheet of yellow paper, the storyboard features a brief description under a hand-drawn image and is labelled as ‘12A’. There are two rubber stamps at the top, one saying ‘July 30’ and the other saying ‘SS Approved,’ indicating that the director has given this storyboard his sign-off. The page is hole punched on the left hand side, indicating that this page was part of a sequence, forming a comprehensive shot-by-shot outline of the movie’s now iconic cinematography.

The storyboard comes beautifully presented in a custom-built framed display with laser-cut mount board featuring the classic movie title. The piece is in excellent condition.
