“Courage is no match for an unfriendly shoe, Countess...”

A Derek Meddings personal storyboard from the production of John Glen’s 1981 Bond film For Your Eyes Only. James Bond (Roger Moore) is assigned to find a missing British vessel, equipped with a weapons encryption device and prevent it from falling into enemy hands.

Storyboards were used in the planning of scenes. This storyboard copy comes from Derek Meddings’ personal set of storyboards. The legendary Meddings was the visual effects supervisor on the film and had been involved in a number of Bond films including The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and Goldeneye as well as other great visual effects in Superman I, II and III and Batman.

Meddings was so admired in his field that in the recent Bond film Casino Royale ‘Meddings Incorporated’ appears on the side of a building during the tanker sequence in Miami airport as a nod to the visual effects master

The storyboard shows Bond and Melina tied together being pulled through the water (a sequence actually taken from the novel ‘Live and Let Die’). The storyboard comes custom framed with a laser cut mount board featuring the film’s title and a brief description. It remains in an excellent condition.
