Inspector Gadget (1999)

Prototype Inspector Gadget Stetson Fedora

Stock #36314

A prototype Inspector Gadget Stetson fedora made for David Kellogg's 1999 adaptation of the classic cartoon, Inspector Gadget. When security guard John Brown (Matthew Broderick) is injured in the line of duty, he is transformed into the high-tech, yet clumsy, Inspector Gadget.

This fedora was crafted by renowned hat makers, the John B. Stetson Company, as a prototype for Gadget's signature hat and was likely intended for Robo-Gadget, Inspector Gadget's evil replica. While Gadget's final costume featured a tan colored hat, this particular hat is charcoal in color and remains ultimately unused in the final cut of the film. Inside the hat is a manufacturer tag, indicating that it is a size 7 3/4, and is marked as 'PROTOTYPE."

This hat remains in very good production made condition.
