A Production Used Parlor Board used during the making of Steven Spielberg's 1984 adventure film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! Parlor boards, such as this one, are used to demonstrate an optical composite using a matte painting and live action imagery. This parlor board features Indy, Short Round, and Willie walking along a stone path that leads to the magnificent Pankot Palace in India. The top image shows the final optical composite, with the bottom image showing the matte painting embedded over a black background, indicating where the live action shots would be overlaid.
This board features handwritten notes below the image (see photos). Due to storage and production use, this item has a slight curvature, however it remains in otherwise very good condition.
