A framed storyboard used in Stephen Spielberg’s 1984 adventure classic Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) travels to India following the urgent request from a village to locate a mystical stone. During his search he discovers a cult with a terrifying plan in the catacombs below an ancient palace.
Pages such as this were integral to the creation of the movie and enabled the team to visualise each shot early on. This illustration shows Indy clinging onto the rope bridge after he has hacked through it, causing it to break apart causing many of the Thugee soldiers fall to their death.
The illustration is accompanied by details about the shot. The shot itself does not appear exactly as shown on the storyboard, with Indy swinging face forward on the bridge, but it is remarkably close. Hole punches at the top show that this page would have been held as part of a sequence. On the top left is a circled B and the description underneath the illustration reads; ‘Like Tarzan – Indy swings close past.’ There are added details such as; ‘1st and 2nd units’ and ‘1st Bridge.’
The storyboard comes presented in a custom-built display with laser cut mount board featuring the movie title and brief description. It is in excellent condition.
Materials: Wood, Acrylic, Paper, Card, Ferrous Metals.
