A framed, production-used storyboard copy used in the production of Steven Spielberg's classic adventure film Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.
Pages such as this were integral to the creation of the movie, and enabled the team to visualise each shot early on. This illustration shows a shot from the exciting sequence where Indy (Harrison Ford) chased the Nazi tank to save his father, Henry Jones Sr (Sean Connery).
This production used copy is signed by veteran producer Robert Watts. The scene is pictured from a pulled-out perspective with the tank to the right chasing Indy on his horse to the left - directional arrows showing where he would wheel his mount around. Below the illustration is a scene description directing the action. Printed on white A4 sized paper, the storyboard has been labelled as ‘A’ and features handwritten pencil notes ‘Check with S.S. - 1st or 2nd + 7B?, ‘1st Unit’ and ‘Loc No. 2’ – these indicate that this was to be combined with other shots to form the final sequence. Dated 3/30/88, it has been labelled ‘TANK 002’ and hole punched at the top, showing that it would have been held as part of a sequence. The storyboard comes presented in a custom-built display with laser cut mount board featuring the movie title and brief description. The frame measures approximately 37cm x 36cm (14 ½” x 14 ¼”).
