A framed, production-used storyboard copy used in the production of Steven Spielberg's classic adventure film Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.
Pages such as this were integral to the creation of the movie, and enabled the team to visualise each shot early on. This illustration shows a shot from the film’s opening moments where a young Indy (River Phoenix), pursued across a circus train into the House of Reptiles cart, falls into a large box of snakes.
This production used copy is signed by veteran producer Robert Watts. Indy’s legs are shown disappearing into a mass of snakes, his pursuer entering at the top right - below the illustration is a scene description directing the action. Printed on white A4 sized paper, the storyboard is stamped ‘789065’ and dated 2/19/88. It has been numbered ‘CT 28B’ and hole punched at the top showing that these would have been held together in sequence. It comes presented in a custom-built display with laser cut mount board featuring the movie title and brief description. The frame measures approximately 37cm x 36cm (14 ½” x 14 ¼”).
