A Frankie Howerd white polyester suit from Michael Mills’ 1976 TV comedy show The Howerd Confessions.

Howerd wore his white suit in episode 2, where he refers to it as having been made from a parachute. This suit consists of a jacket and trouser, both made in lightweight polyester with panels of brown stitching. Rope detailing with a metal ring hangs from the jackets left chest pocket and on either side of the lapels. The trousers have been lined with cotton and feature elastic waistband adjusters that fasten onto buttons to adjust the fit. Both pieces include ‘Bermans & Nathans’ labels that do not feature sizes. While the jacket’s label has been half torn, the trouser label remains intact and reads ‘Frankie Howerd, 10991, The Howerd Confessions’.

The suit displays some wear from production use and age, including discolouration, staining and a tear to the polyester fabric on the jacket’s left cuff. Otherwise, considering its age, it remains in good condition.
