A comp for a matte painting handpainted by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) visual effects matte painting supervisor Frank Ordaz and seven rare behind-the-scenes photographs from the production of Willard Huyck's Howard the Duck. Howard T. Duck (Ed Gale/Chip Zien) flew across planets and asteroid fields after being ejected from Duckworld into Cleveland, Ohio. Ordaz also contributed seminal effects work to productions including E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, among others.

This comp depicting a cloudy, cosmic landscape is rendered in acrylic, signed, and hand-marked "comp for the movie 'Howard the Duck' (Paramount) - Painted at ILM" by Ordaz in graphite on board. Included are six colour-printed Polaroids depicting additional ILM-created production artwork and a photograph of a Howard T. Duck costume head. The comp exhibits some faded text and yellowing from age. Dimensions: (largest) 38.25 cm x 30.5 cm (15" x 12")
