Interestingly enough, this poster shows the whole devolution of a marriage. In a pre-Code film, the imagery of loose "flapper" morality is reflected in the provocative illustration, with the liquor flask that dominates the image and the chorus line of partially nude dancers. This absolutely gorgeous stone litho image showcases the great poster art of the era.
Before being backed to linen, the poster had a chip from the upper left and lower right corners. There was a small chip from the center cross fold and a small chip from the upper and lower center borders. There was some tape previously on the poster, but that is not apparent from the front.
Released almost simultaneously with the Great Depression-sparking Wall Street Crash, this melodrama about a society couple (Olive Borden and Morgan Farley), who marry in secret so they don't lose the benefit of a parental allowance, didn't exactly chime with audiences.
