Golden Compass, The

Tony Costa (Steve Loton) Hero Bow, Arrows and Quiver

Stock #21940

Tony Costa’s (Steve Loton) hero bow, quiver and arrows used in the movie adaptation of Philip Pullman’s classic fantasy story the Golden Compass. The Gyptian son of Ma Costa can be seen shooting his bow at the London thugs to rescue a defenceless Lyra and Pantalaimon.

The tall long tightly sprung wooden bow is made from rich brown and pale wood with horn tips to fix the bowstring, and the grip is bound with distinctive tan leather. The quiver is a solid card tube bound with a dark material meant to resemble leather painted with leaf designs top and bottom, and adjustable leather strap also decorated in the same fashion, and inside are two hero arrows with sharp metal heads, decorative shaft and yellow, grey and white fletching.

It creates a stunning set and is in an excellent production used condition. The bow stands at 200cm (79”) tall when strung, the arrows are 87cm (34.25”) long and the quiver is 70cm (27.5”) long. Due to the sharp and potentially dangerous nature of the arrowheads this piece cannot be sold to customers under the age of 18.
