Golden Compass, The
General Oblation Board Dining Set
Stock #90447
A General Oblation Board dining set used in Chris Weitz' 2007 fantasy adventure The Golden Compass.
Based on Philip Pullman's novel Northern Lights, the film tells the story of a parallel universe where a person's soul is tied to transforming animal companions known as dæmons.
These ornate pieces were used for the lavish set dressing of the Bolvangar Dining Room on Svalbard, run by the General Oblation Board (the "Gobblers") and the base for some horrific experiments on young children and their daemons.
The set consists of a monogrammed dinner plate, 8" side plate, small water glass and two stainless steel coasters. Each plate is bright white "Conran" china, the larger one monogrammed with an elaborate "G O B" (General Oblation Board) emblem. Each piece remains in excellent condition. While used as background detail they are undeniably a great custom set from the movie.
