Nervous Gladiator's Cream Cloth Tunic

Stock #14703

The nervous slaves cream coloured tunic worn in the multi-Oscar winning Ridley Scott epic Gladiator. In the film, betrayed Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe) returns to Rome as a gladiator in order to seek revenge against the self appointed emperor, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who murdered his family.

This tunic was worn by the nervous gladiator who is paired with Hagen (Ralf Moeller) , a German barbarian, in the first arena battle in the film. The cream coloured tunic is made from a linen fabric and features a frayed hem and neckline. The tunic hangs down past the waist and has hand sewn ‘side seams’. Intentional markings, indicating the dusty and violent conditions in the gladiatorial arena, are present all over the tunic including various spots of red, fake blood applied around the neck and a prominent yellow stain painted on to the front. With lots of signs of intentional distressing, the costume remains in very good production-used condition.
