A male spearman's cuirass from Ridley Scott's 2000 historical epic, Gladiator. In the film, betrayed Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe) returns to Rome as a gladiator in order to seek revenge against the self appointed emperor, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who murdered his family.

This armor was worn by a spearman during a battle at the Colosseum in which Maximus and his fellow gladiators are pitted against Legionaries in a reenactment of the Battle of Zama. The cuirass is made of a breastplate and backplate that are attached at the shoulders and sides using leather straps. The interior of the armor has been marked "FA" in black ink.

This item shows some wear to the foam and gold paint which has rubbed off and flaked in some areas, however the piece remains in overall good worn condition.
