A dual-bladed sword from Ridley Scott's historical epic Gladiator. The sword was wielded by a gladiator in the arena at Zucchabar during Maximus' (Russell Crowe) first fight, in which Maximus and Juba (Djimon Hounsou) were chained together, along with the other slaves, to further entertain the audience.
The sword is a stunt version and features a black-painted wooden handle and rubber blades with a metal armature. The blades are painted silver to mimic steel and have been intentionally distressed to look battle-used. The piece has some wear from production use and age. The rubber has split near the point where the two blades diverge. There is a small amount of paint transfer on the blade and the paint has worn off on parts of the handle.
