Hero Chariot Warrior's Bloody Costume

Stock #32221

A Chariot Warrior's Bloody Costume worn in Ridley Scott's 2000 historical epic, Gladiator. In the film, Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe) is betrayed by Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix ) who slaughters the emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) and Maximus' family upon learning that he will not receive the crown. Presumed dead, Maximus returns to Rome as a gladiator in order to seek revenge against the self appointed emperor, Commodus.

This armor can be seen worn by a male warrior brandishing a javelin during a battle at the Colosseum in which Maximus and his fellow gladiators are pitted against Legionaries in a reenactment of the Battle of Zama. The armor can be screen matched due to sight specific blood stains as the one worn by the very last Legionary to be killed in the battle.

Crafted from foam latex, this armor features a chest-plate moulded with the curvature of a muscular male torso. The gold colored cuirass features leather straps that tie the front and back of the armor together at the shoulders, and locks at the waist with numerous buckles. On the interior section of the armor are strips of black nylon that are molded into the foam latex, and riveted together to hold the leather pieces securely. Written on the inside the armor using black marker is the letter "E" and "back."

Paired with the cuirass are a pair of gauntlets and grieves to protect his arms and legs. These pieces have been crafted from resin, lined with foam padding, and can be tied to the body with leather cords.

Please note that this screen matched item was custom made and does not include any sizing information. The piece features notable wear to the gold paint and blood soaked leather, but remains in overall good worn condition.
