Gladiator's Fish Head Sword

Stock #32240

A Gladiator's Fish Head Sword from Ridley Scott’s historical epic, Gladiator. When Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe) is betrayed by Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) who slaughters the emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) and Maximus' family upon learning that he will not receive the crown. Presumed dead, Maximus returns to Rome as a gladiator in order to seek revenge against the self appointed emperor, Commodus. Although made for use by one of the film's many gladiators, this weapon is unseen in the final cut of the film.

This sword features a medium length rubber blade that is constructed over a metal support beam. The blade meets an ornate d-guard that is made from resin and shaped like the tail of a fish. This leads to the pommel which resembles a fish. Between this is a wooden grip with a ribbed surface, allowing for easy handling.

Due to production use and storage, this item features notable wear, particularly to the blade where the metal support beam and pierced through the rubber, exposing the interior (see photos). This item remains in overall fair condition.
