500 and 1000 credit money stacks from John Carpenter’s 2001 sci-fi Ghosts of Mars.
In the 22nd century, Mars has been 84% terraformed and humans can walk on the surface without pressure suits. Lieutenant Melanie Ballard, second in command of a team alongside Sergeant Jericho (Jason Statham) is sent to a remote Martian mining outpost to transport prisoner Desolation Williams (Ice Cube).
These money stacks and others like them were created for the film and feature in a flashback in which Williams steals a bag full of money. One stack has 5 credit notes, the other 10 credits. The stacks each have two printed notes, one on the top and one on the bottom, and the notes in between are blank, but give the appearance of there being lots of them. The printed ones feature an illustration of a woman called ‘McMurdo’ and the note is produced by the ‘United Colonies of Mars – Department of Treasury’.
The stacks have some wear from production use, including minor curling in the corners, but they remain in an otherwise excellent condition.
