Cobra Ninja's Rubber Sword and Back Rig seen in Jon M. Chu’s 2013 action adventure, G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In the film, Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson) leads his team against Cobra after a brutal air assault wipes out most of the Joes. Swords of this style can be seen holstered on the back of Cobra Ninja's during their epic icy mountain battle against Snake Eyes and Jinx. This custom made stunt sword is a cast from rubber and painted silver along the blade, tsuba guard, and kabuto-gane pommel tip. The simulated ito braid is cast into the rubber and painted black to imitate leather. Paired with the sword is a saya scabbard which is cast from rubber. While the scabbard mouth has been hollowed out, the rest of the saya is solid, preventing the sword from being sheathed.

Also paired with the sword is a rig worn by the stunt actors which harnessed their sheathed swords to their backs. Hidden within the costume, the rig features a square leather base with adjustable nylon straps attached to the four corners. In the center of the base is a rectangular metal plate that would fasten to a nylon holster that appeared on the exterior of the costume. This piece is currently missing hardware that would anchor the holster to the metal plate.

This item features minor wear due to production use, however it remains in overall good used condition.
