This uniform and others like it were worn by tank crews fighting in Germany as the US Army makes its final push of the war. The costume is composed of a set of “HBT” herringbone twill overalls, an olive green wool shirt, a tanker’s jacket, a green field hat and brown leather ankle boots. The entire costume has been distressed to look hard-worn from use on the battlefield, with plenty of marks, mud, scuffing and oil smears. A “rigger” pocket has been added to the tanker jacket on the left breast.
Well used on the production and distressed for use, the uniform remains in overall very good condition. The jacket is marked as size small, the overalls marked as size medium, the shirt marked as size large, the hat marked as size 61 and the boots marked as size 9.
