Pearl Slaghoople’s (Joan Collins) costume from Brian Levant’s prehistoric sequel Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas.
In the film, the Flintstones and the Rubbles go on a trip to Rock Vegas, where Wilma (Kristen Johnston) is pursued by playboy Chip Rockefeller (Thomas Gibson).
Pearl wore her green attire when she arrived at Wilma’s hotel room in Rock Vegas, as she convinced her daughter to give Chip another chance.
The production-made costume consists of a leather midi length dress, a faux-fur shawl, a pair of leather gloves, a necklace, a bracelet and five earrings. Strips of layered bright green leather with black edging decorate the neckline and have also been used to create the skirt section of the dress. Green flame shaped pieces hang from the bottom of the dress, producing an asymmetric hemline. Strips of boning have been sewn on the interior of the dress to give the top section more shape. The back of the piece displays a concealed zip fastening and a piece of Velcro. The shawl features a green and black zebra print with a shaggy black faux-fur border. The multiple jewellery pieces consist of varying sized green, black, purple and yellow plastic gem-like pieces.
The dress displays minor marks on the green leather pieces, the shawl shows minor wear from use on production and a gem piece from one of the earrings has become loose over time. However, in spite of this wear, the costume remains in overall very good condition.
