Raoul Duke's (Johnny Depp) Telegram and Envelope

Stock #114982

“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

Raoul Duke’s (Johnny Depp) telegram and envelope from Terry Gilliam’s 1998 adventure comedy film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

An oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades.

Raoul Duke read his telegram after receiving it from the hotel clerk, he reads the telegram again while on the phone to Doctor Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro). The telegram and envelope are printed on yellow paper with “Western Union Telegram” at the top. The telegram features the addressee’s name “Hunter S. Thompson” (Raoul’s real name which he used to confuse the hotel clerk) and the message from Gonzo. The telegram and envelope show minimal wear from production use including creases and a small tear on the bottom left corner of the telegram and at the bottom along the shorter fold. The piece remains in an otherwise very good condition.
