Henry Faber’s (Donald Sutherland) suit from Richard Marquand’s 1981 thriller Eye of the Needle.
A ruthless German spy who goes by the name of Henry Faber (Donald Sutherland) is on his way back home from England after gathering information about the D-Day invasion for Hitler. Henry, who is the "Needle," a name that refers to his favorite method of killing, becomes stranded on Storm Island with Lucy (Kate Nelligan) and her husband, David (Christopher Cazenove). Lucy's strained relationship with her disabled husband leaves her vulnerable to Henry's charms.
This costume consists of a two-piece herringbone-patterned tweed suit. Henry Faber wears it for much of the film's running time. The trousers have a Bermans and Nathans costumier label which reads 'Donald Sutherland 16067 Eye of the Needle'. It features no size labelling as it was made especially for production. The costume is in good, production-used, condition, betraying only minor signs of its age and wear.
