A special effects nailgun used in the production of Paul W.S. Anderson's sci-fi horror Event Horizon. Travelling to the edge of our solar system, Dr William Weir (Sam Neill) and a crack search and rescue team are sent to retrieve the deep space exploration vessel Event Horizon, which has returned after being lost for seven years. Little do they know it has been on a journey to the pits of Hell itself.
This piece was used for the sequence in which the seemingly blinded Dr Weir shoots out the cockpit glass of the Event Horizon. The barrel plug, made of resin, still has a green visual effects marker at the centre of the barrel from its use in the sequence. The rear of the plug displays natural signs of production wear, with sanding marks on the reverse. Displaying some very minor wear, the piece remains in overall good condition.
