A space suit and pair of gloves worn by Peters (Kathleen Quinlan) in the sci-fi horror movie Event Horizon.
Travelling to the edge of our solar system, Dr William Weir (Sam Neill) and a crack search and rescue team are sent to retrieve the deep space exploration vessel Event Horizon, which has returned after being lost for seven years. Little do they know it has been on a journey to the pits of Hell itself.
Peters’ motherly character would have worn this as part of her complete space suit during the scenes of the initial expedition into the derelict Event Horizon ship. This detailed costume was custom made for the production and consists of a thick padded jacket, trousers, leather gloves, leather belt and leg webbing, all of which have been purposely distressed for filming.
The medical technician’s name badges are sewn on the main costume, along with an American patch on the left sleeve and a round yellow patch for ‘The Lewis And Clark Search And Rescue Ship’ on the right. It features green strips that instantly identify her to the other crew members.
Each glove is marked ‘Peters’ and the suit itself is marked ‘Peters Double’, denoting this as a secondary space suit to the hero close up version. The utility belt is marked "Cooper Double", although the suit elements may well have been mixed and matched during production.
The suit features intentional distressing and exhibits several marks on the front of the belt. However, despite this wear the piece remains in very good production-used condition.
