Enemy Mine

Original Matte Painting Study - Actors On Glacier

Stock #27811

This is an original matte painting study from Wolfgang Peterson's 1985 sci-fi film, Enemy Mine. In the film, fighter pilot Willis E. Davidge (Dennis Quaid) crash lands on an alien planet along with his reptilian opponent, a Drac pilot named Jeriba Shigan (Louis Gossett Jr.). There, they must learn to overcome their hatred of one another, in order to survive the harsh terrain and dangerous alien world of Fyrine IV.

In this painting, we see two shots of Davidge and Jeriba as they walk through the treacherous landscape. The two paintings are labeled in the bottom left corner with "128", "129", and feature a handwritten heading underneath which read: "Doubles" and "Actors (doubles) on glacier". This study was painted by Christopher Evans, Visual Effects Supervisor of Photography on the film. This item measures approximately 11" x 8.5" (22cm x 28cm).

The board does show some signs of age (please see photos) but is otherwise in good production used condition.
